ONE is the Number: ShoreTel Connect has Launched!

The highly anticipated ShoreTel Connect has launched! The largest launch in company history, Connect unites ShoreTel products for both cloud and premises into one common solution strategically poised to bring more choice to businesses, even as it simplifies and unifies.

ShoreTel emphasizes this unity with a mantra of “One: 1, 2, 3 — one product, two ways to deploy, three ways to deliver.” Unity and choice are integrated into a single, powerful foundational platform — ShoreTel Connect. Of course, UC including telephony, can be deployed as a product (premises) or a service (cloud). Connect ONSITE, Connect CLOUD, and Connect HYBRID are the three ways ShoreTel is delivering its solutions from the Connect platform. Connect HYBRID combines cloud and onsite into a powerful method of delivery that can combine the most attractive and robust features of each. The single Connect platform simplifies what can otherwise be an overwhelming group of UC offerings.

Users can concentrate on collaboration and communication not on IT

A new ShoreTel Connect client with a friendly, sleek, and intuitive user interface enables users to collaborate without tears. The frustration of fiddling with IT or multiple platforms is gone. Connect client offers a unified and elegant way to manage phones, contacts, instant messaging, scheduling, video calling, conferencing and other UC functions. Connect client is available for all deployment models.

More security

Additionally, Connect has added a new security layer encrypting voice, web, and signaling traffic. This security layer makes ShoreTel Connect one of the most secure solutions out there today. Connect CLOUD customers have the new layer built into the ShoreTel datacenter, and Connect ONSITE customers have this extra layer tucked inside the new Edge Gateway appliance.

This new security layer has a bonus benefit for remote workers: it eliminates the need to launch a separate VPN client when using ShoreTel desktop applications or remote phones. This is a nice touch that streamlines operations and creates added convenience.

Connect HYBRID is flexible and empowered

Connect HYBRID is empowered with multiple approaches including deployment split, application split, and failover. Flexibility is the keyword here and word has it that ShoreTel is now delivering new licensing options at the time of purchase.

Phones now more scalable and programmable with Button Box BB424

ShoreTel phones have more options. Button box BB424 now enables 96 additional buttons to be attached to an IP 485g phone. These additional buttons give operators, office managers and administrators, as well as contact center supervisors the choice to expand options. Scalability has been added for programmable buttons with more Subscription elements available. Also, a fully documented API for the 400-series phones allows 3rd party developers the leg room and inspiration to create custom applications.

Contact Centers have new interfaces for easy control

There is a redesigned ShoreTel Director management interface for ONSITE deployments that is browser independent and can be set up with encryption. Contact Center agents will also enjoy a newly redesigned agent interface that is easy to learn and logical. Agent chat is fully integrated and call profile information is clearly displayed. Additionally Connect Contact Center agents are empowered with various remote working capabilities.
